Outrage as Beloved South African DJ Killed in Johannesburg.

A prominent South African media personality and entertainer has been murdered in the nation's economic hub Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a country battling rampant crime.

Warrick Stock, who went by the name DJ Warras, was attacked in the central business district on a Tuesday afternoon.

Officials stated the 40-year-old media personality was accosted by three suspects, with one began shooting at him before running away.

The motive behind the incident remains unclear and no arrests have been made, as per the official statement.

Details of the Attack

Law enforcement said that Stock was attacked as he was leaving a building close to the city center landmark.

He had been present for hours at the building managing the implementation of safety equipment, which had been illegally inhabited by squatters, as per local media.

"It is alleged the man was confronted by three unidentified men after he parked his car, and they began shooting at him before escaping on foot," an official report said.

CCTV footage reportedly captured a man with dreadlocks and clad in what looked like a guard's attire firing shots on Stock before running away.

The DJ tried to run away after he was shot but collapsed across the street.

It was further revealed that Stock had an gun that was not fired and nothing was taken during the attack.

Key evidence, like bullet casings, were recovered from the scene.
