Soccer Expert Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

Arsenal's 10-game winning run was ended by Sunderland before the global hiatus, however will the English top division leaders recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

The Cherries have lost their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was still that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four games.

My son advised me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.

However I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

It is a tough one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
